What you need to know

Samsung announced it hosted the Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit 2026 at its Mountain View campus on Oct. 15, following a Partner Day the prior day. More than 100 telecom operators, manufacturers, agencies and academics discussed software-driven networks, AI-native communications and 6G, with panel sessions and technology demonstrations.

  • Samsung said the summit took place Oct. 15 local time at its Mountain View campus, with Partner Day held there the day before.
  • More than 100 attendees from operators, manufacturers, government agencies and academia took part, according to Samsung.
  • Panels covered AI-native 6G networks, 6G via non-terrestrial networks and connecting physical and digital worlds.

Partner Day on software-driven networks

Partner Day focused on software-driven network strategies and industry-wide collaboration as AI and networks converge, according to Samsung. The company said its keynote argued that AI is reshaping the architectural foundation of telecommunications networks and that combining connectivity with AI will drive new forms of communication.

Samsung said panel sessions drew on lessons from commercializing virtualized networks and examined how the ecosystem can move beyond connectivity to develop new services and business opportunities.

Summit sessions and demonstrations

The summit opened with keynotes followed by three panel sessions: AI-Native 6G Networks, Taking 6G to Space With NTN, and Connecting the Physical and Digital Worlds. Samsung said the sessions paired topic lectures with panel discussions.

The satellite session reviewed low Earth orbit constellations and technical barriers to space-based communication, as well as standards and roadmaps under discussion in 3GPP. The final session covered sensing and physical AI, including Integrated Sensing and Communications, or ISAC.

Samsung said demonstrations showed 6G technologies developed and validated with partners, including AI RAN, X-MIMO, D-MIMO and ISAC, with results covering AI-enabled RAN across all layers and transmission in the 7 GHz candidate band.

Ongoing 6G partnerships

Samsung said the events reflect its work with global operators, research institutes and business groups on 6G and AI-native communications. It cited collaboration with LG U+ and field validation with Verizon at a soccer fan event in Dallas for ISAC development, and research partnerships with NTT DOCOMO, KDDI Research, KT, SK Telecom and SoftBank.

What topics did the summit's panel sessions cover?

Samsung said the three sessions addressed AI-native 6G networks, taking 6G to space with non-terrestrial networks, and connecting the physical and digital worlds through sensing and physical AI.
